Ke Wang is a highly accomplished concert pianist and collaborative musician originally from China. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Bienen School of Music, Northwestern University.
Wang's passion for music began at the age of eight when he attended the Middle School Affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of renowned pianists Zijie Wu, Zhe Tang, and Natalia Filippova. He went on to complete his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, studying with esteemed pianists Matti Raekallio and Jerome Lowenthal. Throughout his education, Wang has received numerous awards and scholarships, including the Niu-En-De Scholarship for Young Pianists, the High-School Student Scholarship, and the Eckstein Scholarship. He was an officially admitted collaborative pianist at the Juilliard School.
Wang has won several international competitions, including the first prize in the 6th China Zhejiang Youth Piano Competition, the second prize in the 3rd Liszt International Youth Piano Competition in Weimar, and the first prize in the 4th International Moscow Music Online-Competition. He has also been awarded the second prize of the 3rd Piano Island Festival Competition in Singapore and a special prize recital in Bangkok rewarded by pianist Prommachart.
Wang's notable performance experiences include a concert tour in Germany, the Steinway 125th Anniversary Concert Tour, the Osaka International Music Festival, and the Sauter Piano New Year's Concert Series. He has also presented chamber tours with first-class musicians on major stages in Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, and Chengdu. His strong ambition for collaborative music continues to propel his career forward. As a concert pianist, Wang has collaborated with world-leading conductors and orchestras, including conductor Muhai Tang, the Shanghai Philharmonic, the Shanghai Opera House Orchestra, and the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra.
