Kenneth McCall is a baritone and Master of Music student at Baylor University, where he performs with the Baylor Opera Theater. He previously earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor, where he gained additional performance experience. He began his music education at West Texas A&M University where he met his wife, Emma. She and their young son, Mason, are a constant source of support, encouragement, and drive through his musical journey.
Kenneth’s professional experience includes multiple seasons with TEXAS! The Outdoor Musical, where he contributed as a chorus member, swing, FOH worker, FOH band member, and performed the principal role of Dude Forbes in his final season. During his time with the company, he also performed in three of the organization’s opera productions: as a juror in Trial by Jury (Gilbert and Sullivan), the Count in The Marriage of Figaro, and Papageno in The Magic Flute. These performances provided him with opportunities to develop versatility across both musical theater and opera repertoire while collaborating closely with cast and production teams.
While attending West Texas A&M University, he studied under Dr. Cloyce Kuhnert and participated in several opera scenes productions, including a limited production of Speed Dating Tonight by Michael Ching and a selection of choral masterworks, including Dona Nobis Pacem by Vaughan Williams, A German Requiem by Brahms, and The Resurrection Symphony by Mahler.
At the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor, Kenneth performed the role of The Pilot in The Little Prince by Rachel Portman, Dom Claude Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, King Melchior in Amahl and the Night Visitors by Menotti, and appeared in the musical revue A Grand Night for Singing by Rodgers and Hammerstein. In addition to gaining ample performative experience at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, he studied under Dr. Samantha Balboa and was coached by Sammy Marshall. Here, he also worked at the UMHB Arts Academy, where he taught a variety of students for three years.
In the summer of 2024, Kenneth earned first place in the Graduate Men’s category at the National Student Auditions (NATS). Later that fall, he received the Edward Baird Singer of the Year Award and the Linda Poetschke Audience Choice Award, highlighting both his vocal performance and audience appeal.
