Biography

Kiára King

Lyric coloratura Kiára King is an Illinois native but a Georgia girl at heart, growing up in Austell, Georgia. She is currently pursuing a Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance at Columbus State University under the direction of Dr.Joshua May. Kiára also holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Florida State University, earned May of 2023. During her time at Florida State University, she played the role of Second Knaben in their 2021 production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. At her current institution she has starred as Monica in Menotti’s The Medium, Goldie B.Locks in John Davies’ Goldie B. Locks and the Three Singing Bears, and as cover for Suor Genovieffa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica. Projected roles include Morgana in Handel’s Alcina and Olympia in John Davies' Pinocchio. Kiára's accolades include serving as a finalist in the 2025 Schwob School of Music Concerto Compeition and being a featured singer in the 2025 National Opera Association Conference Masterclass with Mary Henderson Stucky.
