Kieran White

 British tenor Kieran White continues to enjoy success in the UK and is also establishing himself as a sought after artist in mainland Europe.  Recent engagements include work with many of the leading ensembles in the UK and Europe including Amsterdam Baroque, Netherlands and Edvard Grieg Kor, Norway. He also performs regularly with the Monteverdi Choir under Sir John Eliot Gardiner and with Denmark’s Copenhagen Soloists.  He is particularly associated with repertoire from 16th, 17th and 18th Century. Operatic engagements include Castor CASTOR & POLLUX with Warsaw Chamber Opera, Damon ACIS & GALATEA for Dorset Opera, Oronte ALCINA for the Arcola Theatre (London) and the Théâtre Basse Passière, Normandy, Arnalta L’INCORONAZIONE DI POPPEA at the Cockpit Theatre, the title-role Egisto in L'EGISTO for Hampstead Garden Opera, Hippolyte HIPPOLYTE ET ARICIE at the Arcola Theatre (London), Acis ACIS AND GALATEA for Ensemble OrQuesta, Ruggiero in Caccini LA LIBERAZIONE DI RUGGIERO and Pastore in Gagliano’s LA DAFNE for the Brighton Early Music Festival, and the Sailor DIDO AND AENEAS at the Grange Festival. Upcoming engagements include Valére/Tacmas LES INDES GALANTES for Ensemble OrQuesta and returning to Warsaw Opera Kameralna as the title-role Castor in CASTOR ET POLLUX. On the recital platform he has performed with Elizabeth Kenny (lute/theorbo) and Zita Silva (Harp), performing with both at the Sherborne Music Festival.  Recent engagements  include Bach Weihnachtsoratorium (Evangelist and tenor solo) with Collegium Musicum, Bergen, Bach Matthäus-Passion (Evangelist) with Iain Ledingham, Bach Johannes-Passion (tenor solo) with Bristol Bach Choir, Bach Matthäus-Passion (tenor solo) with Copenhagen Soloists, Stainer Crucifixion with Edvard Grieg Kor, Bach Cantatas with Amsterdam Baroque under Ton Koopman, Monteverdi Vespro della Beata Vergine with Edvard Grieg Kor, Bach’s B Minor Mass with Bristol Bach Choir, at the Thuringer Bachwochen in the Erfurt Dom and Bach Johannes-Passion (Evangelist) in Aberdeen Cathedral and for his debut with the ensemble Gli Angeli, in Geneva.    He has worked with many of today’s leading conductors including Ton Koopman, John Eliot Gardiner, Ed Gardner, Jonathan Offir, Paul Agnew, Stephan Mcleoud, Stephen Higgins, Iain Ledingham, Jeremy Carnall, Timothy Dean, Håkon Matti Skrede and Stephan Plewniak.  Born in Dorset, England, Kieran White began his musical studies at the age of six as a chorister in Sherborne Abbey. At the age of nine he became a chorister at renowned Wells Cathedral Choir. As a boy treble he performed as a soloist within the choir on numerous occasions, including a solo appearance on BBC Songs of Praise, numerous radio broadcasts, CD recordings and Film soundtracks. His most notable commercial recording is the Missa Brevis recorded with Malcolm Archer and the choristers of Wells Cathedral. His voice is featured in the film A Good Woman singing the Pie Jesu from Faure Requiem. Kieran continued his studies at Wells Cathedral School as a tenor, taught by Nigel Perrin and sang in the Wells Cathedral School Chamber Choir, touring to China and Hong Kong as a chorister and soloist. In 2008 he joined the St Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin as a Choral Scholar and 2009-2011 he sang with Truro Cathedral Choir in Cornwall. Kieran graduated from The Royal Academy of Music achieving a Masters with distinction. Whilst at the Academy he held a Kohn foundation scholarship as a soloist in the Bach Cantata Series.  He is presently a student of renowned haute-contre Jean Paul Fouchecourt. In 2021 Kieran was awarded 2nd place at the Froville International Baroque Singing Competition.
