What some may call "luck," others call DESTINY. Since birth, Kim Tibbs has been honing her craft...Crediting her late father, Pastor Robert L. Tibbs for her musical ability, Kim has over thirty years of musical experience as an accomplished Arranger, B-3 Organist, Keyboardist, Lyricist, Pianist, Producer, and Songwriter. Kimberly is currently an Endorsed Artist with Hammond Organ Company USA, Roland Corporation US, Peavey Amplifiers USA, and Slick Audio Recording, and many other companies. She is also a Staff Writer for the Songs of Love Foundation; Kimberly is also a Council Member of the Board of Advisers in the College of Arts located at J.C. Calhoun Community College. Kimberly holds a Bachelors of Arts and Science in Business Administration, Double Masters Degrees in Organizational Leadership and Masters of Business in Public Administration as well as currently working on a Doctorate of Business Administration in Leadership.
As an Artist, Kim Tibbs gained international acclaim with her debut release, "...Kim." Her first single, "I Need You For Your Love," entered the Official U.K. Soul Charts at Number #24, November 6, 2016 and in two weeks, it went to Number #1 along with the second single, "Soul!" staying there for Four Consecutive weeks; . The single, "I Need You For Your Love," landed at Number #4 on the year end Official U.K. Soul Chart Top 100 Songs for 2016. The third, fourth and fifth Singles released called, "Drifting," "For!" and "Move!" steadily grew her to a wider audience daily, with "Drifting" and "For" both debuting on the Official U.K. Soul Charts at Number #9, getting to the Number #4 position on April 23, 2017. On August 25, 2017, the debut album, KIM, was released charting strong at Number #7. By September 3, 2017, KIM moved into the Number #1 position on the Official U.K. Soul Charts, staying at the Number #1 position for 4 weeks straight as an album. KIM finished the year at Number #23 on the Official UK Soul Charts Top 100 Albums and Songs for 2017. Kim was nominated in November, 2017 for Best International Artist in the Bright Star Awards 2017/2018 for her album and won the Best International Artist 2017 in London, United Kingdom, January 28, 2018. On January 23, 2019, FOR! entered the Smooth Jazz Charts in the United States of America debuting the Smooth Sound of KIM.
Kim’s Sophomore Project entitled, “THE SCiENCE OF COMPLETiON VOLUME I-II,” showcased her abilities as a Recording Artist, B-3 Organist, Executive Producer, Singer, and Songwriter. “THE SCiENCE OF COMPLETiON VOLUME I-II,” started off incorporating younger musicians interested in music within the Creative Arts Department of Florence High School under Dr. Jerry Foster. Demos were recorded with most engineering being completed by Michael Ivey, the grandson of Clayton Ivey. Several songs were recorded that incorporated many high school students. Those songs later developed into the double album that was finalized at Royal Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Kim went back in time to collectively create a body of work that was recorded in the traditional way with live musicians throughout the entire recording. The musicians that completed the entire project included: Lawrence “Boo” Mitchell, Jackson Snowden, Carlos Sargent, Jubu Smith, Mononeon, Jonathan Richmond, Jackie Clark, Daru Jones, Dave Crenshaw, Rene Benton, Marc Franklin, Celina Fields, Shontelle Norman-Beatty, Sharisse Norman, Vincent Price Jr., Art Edmaiston, Kameron Whalum, Kirk Smothers, Priscilla Tsai, Aaron Tubergen, Iran Zombar, Jennifer Anne Puckett, Yennifer Correia, Jessica Munson, Wen Yuh You, Photographer Ziggy Mack, and Abbey Road Recording Studio. Together, 24 songs were created that evoked power, soul, and spirit. On March 15, 2022, the first single from the Sophomore project was released. WHERE WOULD I BE WITHOUT YOU? spent a total of 18 weeks on the Official U.K. Soul Charts, reaching as high as Number #3. The single was released on 7-inch Vinyl and sold out twice. On August 15, 2022, the second Double-A Single was released. WALK TO THE LIGHT! and ...SUMMERTIME... sent sound waves worldwide, securing the Number #1 spot on the U.K. Soul Charts for 2 weeks. The full length album, THE SCiENCE OF COMPLETiON VOLUME I was finally released September 16, 2022 in conjunction with Izipho Soul Records U.K., Black Orchid Records, Nashville, and AWAL/SONY. The Double Album was released on vinyl, cd, and digital. The Double Vinyl came in at Number #6 on the Official U.K. Soul Charts, later rising to Number #1 and stayed there for 5 weeks. To date, THE SCiENCE OF COMPLETiON VOLUME I spent a total of 38 weeks on the Official U.K. Soul Charts as well as other notable charts within Europe. Kim Tibbs was nominated for two Soultracks Reader's Choice Awards in categories Best Album and Female Vocalist of the Year for THE SCiENCE OF COMPLETiON VOLUME I. The results will be announced December 5, 2022.
