Soprano Lauren Auge recently finished her time as a 2019 Fellow with the Atlantic Music Festival where she was seen in collaboration with pianist Arlene Shrut and under the direction of Mark Crayton. Having made a recent fach change to more dramatic soprano repertoire she was seen in scenes as Magda Sorel from The Consul, Queen Elizabeth from Maria Stuarda and the Countess from Le nozze di Figaro.

Lauren Auge

Soprano Lauren Auge recently finished her time as a 2019 Fellow with the Atlantic Music Festival where she was seen in collaboration with pianist Arlene Shrut and under the direction of Mark Crayton. Having made a recent fach change to more dramatic soprano repertoire she was seen in scenes as Magda Sorel from The Consul, Queen Elizabeth from Maria Stuarda and the Countess from Le nozze di Figaro. As a 2017-18 Resident Artist with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Lauren made her Kaufmann Center debut as Countess Ceprano in their production of Rigoletto. Additionally during the season, she covered the roles of Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Olga in Eugene Onegin, Maddelena in Rigoletto, and Jan Arnold in the thrilling new opera Everest with music by Joby Talbot and libretto by Gene Scheer. Lauren was also seen in collaboration with the New York Festival of Song for their Bernstein Songbook, as well as LOKC’s highly regarded American Voices concert (Lyric Exploration Series). During the summer of 2018, Lauren traveled to China to be a Young Artist with the iSing International Festival. At the conclusion of the program Lauren made her debuts in performances in Suzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing at the illustrious National Center for the Performing Arts. Prior operatic experience has included roles such as, Jennie in Down in the Valley (Dekalb Festival Chorus), the title role in William Bolcom’s Lucrezia (Chicago Fringe Opera), Dorabella in Così fan tutte (Candid Concert Opera), Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro (MSU Opera Theatre), Kate Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly (American Chamber Opera), and The Wife in Darius Mihauld’s dark opera Le pauvre matelot (DePaul Opera Theatre). Lauren is a frequent concert soloist, recently having made her debut with the Grand Rapids Orchestra in their performance of Handel’s Messiah. In 2016 she sang her first Resurrection Symphony (Mahler) with the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony. She has also appeared as a soloist for Durufle’s Requiem, Bach’s Magnificat, and both of Vivaldi’s settings of the Gloria. Lauren was the 2014 winner of the Sinfonietta Bel Canto Voice Competition, 2013 winner of the Pantazelos Performing Artists Foundation Competition, and a finalist in both the Harold Haugh Light Opera Competition and Bel Canto Foundation Contest. A Michigan native, Lauren holds a Bachelor of Music from Michigan State University and a Master of Music from DePaul University in Chicago. During her time in Chicago, Lauren had the privilege of being a member of the Grant Park Festival Chorus and the Chicago Symphony Chorus under the direction of world-renowned conductor, Riccardo Muti. Teachers have included Beth Roberts, Jane Bunnell, and Richard Fracker.
