Lian Levine is currently a student pursuing her Bachelor's of Music in Piano Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, expected to graduate in May 2026. Studying under the primary direction of Dr. Spencer Myer, Lian also studies chamber music with Kurt Muroki, Chi Ho Han, and Sung-Mi Im. Lian is a native New Yorker who grew up on the Lower East Side, primarily educated at the Special Music School at Kaufman Center, LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts, and the Manhattan School of Music Precollege. Before college, she had already performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as the Honorable Mention in the 2016 American Protégé competition, age category 12 and under. Recently, she performed Florence Price's Concerto in One Movement with the Brevard Music Center Orchestra in Brevard, North Carolina, under the baton of Ken Lam as a winner of the 2024 Jan and Beattie Wood Concerto Competition. In Bloomington, she is a member of the Jacobs School of Music stagehand team, responsible for the setup and teardown of the hundreds of student and faculty performances that take place year-round. She is also a collaborative pianist at the Jacobs School of Music as a result of the collaborative piano project, where she has played as an accompanist in the studios of Jane Dutton, Tichina Vaughn, and Deanne Meek. Additionally, she is an accompanist at the Indiana University Musical Theatre Department, where she plays for students of Scott Hogsed. A diligent student, Lian has been named a Founders Scholar at IU three years in a row, having achieved a GPA of 3.8 or higher, her most recent being a 3.99 after the Spring 2025 semester. An experienced teacher, Lian specializes in tutoring English at the high school level (including AP) and Music Theory from beginner stages to undergraduate coursework.
