Biography

Lina Chung

Lina Chung, Korean-American soprano, is based in New York City and Boston. She holds a B.M. degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and recently earned her M.M. degree from the Mannes School of Music.

Her operatic roles include Erste Knabe in Die Zauberflöte and Pousette in Manon with Mannes Opera, as well as Marzelline in Fidelio and Natalia in A Month in the Country at New England Conservatory. She also performed the role of Cunegonde in Candide with SVI at Miami University.

Ms. Chung has appeared as a soprano soloist in Isabella Leonarda’s Ave Regina Caelorum with the NEC Concert Choir and was featured in Gounod’s Gallia at the Atlanta Korean Festival, held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. She has premiered numerous choral works at NEC’s Jordan Hall in collaboration with composers through the Tuesday Night New Music (TNNM) program.

A Schmidt Young Artist, Ms. Chung has also been recognized and awarded by the American Prize Competition, Classical Singer Competition, and the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA).
