Italian-Canadian soprano Lucia Cesaroni has sung leading roles with Italy’s Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi, Teatro di Ravenna, Vancouver Opera, Boston’s Odyssey Opera, Pacific Opera Victoria, Tapestry Opera, l’Opéra de Montréal and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Raised between Canada and Abruzzo, she will make her debut with North Carolina Opera, the Enescu Festival and the Toronto Symphony in 2021.

Recent engagements include In Concert with Andrea Bocelli at the Columbus Citizen’s Foundation in New York, Violetta in La traviata for Pacific Opera Victoria, the title role in The Merry Widow for Vancouver Opera, and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at The Spoleto Festival, Teatro Alighieri di Ravenna and Teatro Coccia di Novara. She has also appeared as Musetta in La bohème with l’Opéra de Montréal and as Maria in West Side Story for Vancouver Opera. Further credits include Micaëla in Carmen with the Bay Chamber Concert Series in Maine as well as her Italian debut in Le nozze di Figaro at the renowned Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi as Susanna, under the baton of James Conlon. Ms. Cesaroni has been featured with the Royal Philharmonic, the Montreal Symphony, the Aldeburgh Festival, the Victoria Symphony, and with Saskatoon Opera. Born in Toronto and raised between Canada and Raiano (AQ) in Abruzzo, Lucia holds a Master’s Degree in Opera from the University of Toronto, and is an Alumna of the Steans Institute at the Ravinia Festival, the Chautauqua Festival and the Aspen Music Festival.
