Luke Honeck, praised as a “charismatic tenor,” is from Anchorage, Alaska currently pursuing his master’s degree at the Eastman School of Music. He has recently been seen as Nemorino in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore and as Devon in the U.S. premiere of Missing by Brian Current (Anchorage Opera). On the concert stage, he has appeared as Uriel in Haydn’s The Creation, and as soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Grand Mass in C minor, Bach’s B minor Mass (Alaska Chamber Singers), and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis (Eastman-Rochester Chorus). His performances “leave audiences in awe with their emotional depth and lyrical beauty.” He has been presented in recital by the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, Anchorage Festival of Music, Anchorage Lutheran Church Concert Series, and the Sitka Fine Arts Camp. This season Luke will premiere the role of Young André in Click! by Steve Bramson with the Eastman Opera Theater. He is a recipient of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions Encouragement Award, and was named the 2024 Ted Stevens Young Alaskan Artist.
