Biography

Lyndi Knox

Lyndi Knox (she/they) is a professional clarinetist and teacher, native to the Pacific Northwest. Lyndi is the Adjunct Instructor of Clarinet at Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, WA and Pierce College Puyallup. They earned a Masters degree in Clarinet Performance from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor's degree in Clarinet Performance from Pacific Lutheran University. Lyndi has performed in masterclasses with Dr. Elsa Verdehr, Frank Cohen, Robert Spring, Julian Bliss, Reinhard Wieser and Boris Allakhverdyan. A seasoned traveler, Lyndi spent time studying in Vienna, Austria where she worked with Anthony Oliveras and Stefan Neubauer of the Vienna Philharmonic. Her time abroad featured solo and chamber performances in Vienna’s historic Palais Corbelli. Locally, Lyndi has performed professionally with Symphony Tacoma, Olympia Symphony Orchestra, Oregon East Symphony and Yakima Symphony Orchestra. Lyndi enjoys teaching students of all ages. As a licensed Kindermusik educator, they love the process of engaging the young child’s introductory musical development. As a private studio owner, Lyndi works with middle-high school students, teaching clarinet fundamentals and artistry. A proponent of individualized teaching, Lyndi’s teaching philosophy provides students with tools to control the mechanism of the clarinet, so that they may better express their inner artistry. When she is not playing clarinet, Lyndi can be found hiking, practicing yoga or improving her vegan baking skills.
