Biography

Mackenzie Rogers

Mackenzie Rogers is an opera and musical theatre singer based in New York City.

An Oklahoma native, Mackenzie has performed in the United States, Austria, and Italy to date. In 2025, she made her role and company debut as Petra in A Little Night Music with St. Petersburg Opera. Following her time with SPO, Mackenzie returned to The Fireside Theatre, where she had previously appeared as Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense, this time performing the Countess Elena Andrenyi in Ken Ludwig's play adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express. New York City credits include the world premiere of Mambo Italiano at Westchester Broadway Theatre. In 2018, she performed with Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre in The Secret Garden as the confidante maid, Martha, and as the iconic Lucy van Pelt in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Also during her time with UFOMT, Mackenzie appeared as a featured singer in the centennial celebration, Tribute to Leonard Bernstein. Other soloist performances include with the Taneycomo Festival Orchestra in Heitor Villa-Lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5: Cantilena, and in multiple sacred works, including Vivaldi's Gloria, Purcell's Rejoice in the Lord Alway, Mozart's Missa Brevis in D major, and Bach's Jesu, meine Freude.

Mackenzie has participated in the premieres of multiple new works, including originating the role of the Kitchenmaid in American composer Chris Burton's 2014 opera The Nightingale. She also commissioned a cabaret-influenced song cycle from the same composer the following year entitled Love Songs as a wedding gift to her fiancé.

In 2017, Mackenzie participated  in a workshop of the new opera Tango of the White Gardenia, commissioned by Cascadia Concert Opera, in the role of the villainess, JoJo. She also joined the ensembles of  Portland Opera's production of La Bohème and Broadway Rose Theatre's rendition of the popular musical The Addams Family, the latter of which received the Drammy Award for Best Ensemble and the PAMTA Awards for Outstanding Ensemble and Outstanding Revival.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mackenzie transitioned from operatic mezzo-soprano to operatic soprano. She holds her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, during which she received the Award for Excellence in Music from the College of Fine Arts and Design, and her Master of Music from the University of Kansas. Mackenzie is a proud citizen of the Chickasaw Nation. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, and is represented by Encompass Arts
