Soprano Maegan Hoogerhyde from New Jersey holds degrees from Montclair State University and New England Conservatory and is passionate about bringing opera to the tristate area and beyond. She most recently performed the role of Mimì (La bohème) and the title role of Thaïs in scenes with the Manetti Shrem Opera Program at Festival Napa Valley. She also performed with Boheme Opera NJ in Il trovatore, Carmen, and Amahl and the Night Visitors, and with New Jersey Opera Theater in Norma. She appeared as a soloist with the Blackburn Music Academy Orchestra, Orchestra 201, and New Jersey Vocal Arts Collaborative.
Her other roles include Britomarte (L’arbore di Diana), First Lady and First Spirit (Die Zauberflöte), Asteria (Tamerlano), and First Conversa (Suor Angelica), with additional scene work as Servilia (La clemenza di Tito), Elvira (L’italiana in Algeri), Blondchen (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), and Catherine (Le mariage aux lanternes). Along with performing, she maintains a successful in-person and online voice studio, serving the North Jersey area.
