Baritone Andrei Maksimov graduated from the St. Peterburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in 2012.
At the Conservatory he sang Onegin (Eugene Onegin), Robert (Iolanta), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), Ferdinand (Betrothal in a Monastery), Germont (La traviata).
While studying Andrei became a soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre Young Singers Academy, where, aside from chamber concerts and contemporary operas, he performed Fiorello (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Flemish deputies (Don Carlo) and the title role of Brundibar.
In 2019 he studied in Italy with M. Devia, N. Martinucci, M. Pertusi at the Opera Singers Academy of the Luciano Pavarotti theatre in Modena, and performed Il Barone di Trombonok (Il viaggio a Reims) at the XXXI Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda”.
In 2021 Andrei took part in the Berlin Opera Academy Opernfest in Switzerland, where he interpreted Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus) and covered Papageno (Die Zauberflöte). The same year he won third prize at the 8th George Enesco Competition (Paris).
Andrei is currently soloist with L'Opéra Studio de l'Opéra National du Rhin (Strasbourg). In the 22/23 season he will perform Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola), Captain (Candide) and Mandarin (Turandot).
