Soprano Maria Lindsey enjoys a versatile operatic career focused on both classical and new works. Currently, she resides in New York City, performing as an ensemble member with The Metropolitan Opera, as well as collaborating on new music works, most notably The American Opera Project's workshop and premier of Letters You Will Not Get, by composer Kirsten Volness. Lindsey has participated in the prestigious young artist programs at The Santa Fe Opera, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and Ravinia Music Festival. Role highlights include Zerlina in Opera Colorado’s Don Giovanni, Frasquita in Carmen with Opera Omaha, Monica in The Medium with Opera Memphis, and Julie in Carousel with Union Avenue Opera in St. Louis. Lindsey has performed as Soprano Soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s C Minor Mass, Poulenc’s Gloria, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Mahler's 2nd Symphony. Lindsey is also a member of the popular New York City-based ensemble, The Opera Cowgirls, most recently performing at BAM Cafe in Brooklyn in a performance by Opera America's New Works Forum and based on the exploration of folk music in new operatic works.
