Biography

Mariah Muehler

Mariah Muehler is a New York-based lyric soprano, originally from Northern California. Most recently she has been seen performing the role of Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with both Luke Housner’s Summer Opera Workshop in Austin, TX and New York Lyric Opera. Mariah kicked off her 2020 season with a public masterclass where she worked with world-renowned mezzo-soprano, Isola Jones. Upcoming engagements include Esmeralda (The Bartered Bride) with Bronx Opera and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) with the Sherrill Milnes VOICE Studio. In 2016, Mariah moved to New York to further pursue her studies of vocal technique and repertoire. During her first few years in the city, she performed with City Lyric Opera (formerly ARE Opera) as part of their Vella Nights opera series. Mariah is currently studying under the tutelage of Andrea DelGiudice. From 2014-2016, she attended the University of British Columbia (Vancouver) for her Master’s in Music in Opera Performance under the tutelage of Heather Thomson-Price and direction of Nancy Hermiston. During her time at UBC, Mariah had the opportunity to perform full roles with orchestra such as Annina (Eine Nacht in Venedig), Zweite Dame (Die Zauberflöte), and Julia in the World Premiere of Choir Practice by Canadian composer, Stephen Chatman. In addition to these performances, she covered and performed partial roles including Mařenka (The Bartered Bride), Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), and Noémie (Cendrillon).
