Mariah Wilcox

Soprano Mariah Wilcox is a native of Arkansas, USA. Ms. Wilcox has twice been the recipient of a first place district win from The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and won second prize at the Northwest Regional Finals. She is the recipient of several other distinguished awards, including from the Mario Lanza Society and was honored as a finalist in the Phoenix Opera Southwest Vocal competition. The 2020-2021 season started off with Ms. Wilcox performing in recital with Opera Idaho, singing both operatic and musical theater selections. She will continue this season with a debut and world premiere of up-and-coming composer Michael Merril’s Mariner Songs, arranged for the Brigham Young University-Idaho Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Diane Soelberg. As a qualifier for this year's prestigious Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Mariah Wilcox will perform this year in her home state in the Arkansas District. She is particularly looking forward to collaborating with celebrated pianist Stephen Thomas for a recital of German Romantic works later this season. A prolific opera performer and an advocate for contemporary music, Ms. Wilcox has performed in over ten productions and has had the opportunity to sing several world premieres of new work during her time as a music student.
