Praised for her poise and elegance, Marie Lenormand is a French mezzo-soprano recognized for her beautiful diction, her talents as an actress, and her passionate commitment to the stage. Holder of a Grammy Award for her participation in L'Enfant et les sortilèges directed by Seiji Ozawa (Grammy Award for Best Opera Recording 2015), she also received the Critics' Prize for "Musical Revelation 2010" for her interpretation of Mignon at the Opéra Comique in Paris. His Périchole and his Despina at the New York City Opera, his Renard in La Petite Renarde Rusée by Janàcek with Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic, earned him the enthusiastic reception of the public and the press. His career was particularly marked by his meeting with chefs Seiji Ozawa and François-Xavier Roth. She has been a member of the Favart troupe at the Opéra Comique for several years. Among her projects this season, in 2021-2022, Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg , Gertrude in Roméo et Juliette (new production by Eric Ruf) and Berginella/ Frasquinella in La Périchole ( new production by Valérie Lesort) at the Opéra Comique , Reine Popotte in Le Voyage dans la Lune by Offenbach on tour at the Opéra de Nice, the Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne, the Opéra de Vichy, Clermont-Ferrand, the revival of the Petite Walk in the Underworld at the Toulon Opera and the Dijon Opera, and Kinorama,a program around German cinema of the 1920s, on tour with the Frivolités Parisiennes, notably at the Bal Blomet. Among her past commitments, in 2015-2016, Marie notably reprized Marguerite de Valois in Le Pré aux Clercs at the Wexford Festival in Ireland, sang her first Hansel (Hansel und Gretel) at Angers-Nantes Opéra, Le Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) with Seiji Ozawa in tour of Japan (Kyoto, Nagoya, Tokyo), Cassiope (Persée by Lully) with Hervé Niquet and the Concert Spirituel at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, the Arsenal de Metz and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Phèdre in La Belle- loving mother, parody of Hippolyte et Aricie by Rameau at the Imperial Theater in Compiègne and at the HändelFestSpiele in Halle. In 2016-2017, she sang the title role in Ravel's L'Enfant et les sortilèges ( Seiji Ozawa Festival , Japan; Cologne Opera, Germany), Berlioz 's Summer Nights with François-Xavier Roth (Printemps des Arts of Montecarlo, Maison de la Culture of Amiens), Suzanne in La Mère Guilty by Darius Milhaud (Onsite Opera, New York). In 2018, she made her debut with the Berliner Philarmoniker under the direction of Mikko Franck in the roles of La chatte blanche and L'écureuil ( the Child and the spells of Ravel); Jacinthe ( Le Domino Noir d'Auber) at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie (Liège) and at theOpéra Comique (Paris), Madame Michu in Les P'tites Michu by Messager with the Compagnie Les Brigands at Angers-Nantes Opéra and the Théâtre de l'Athénée , and finally the revival of Pierrot Lunaire bunraku with Takenori Nemoto at the auditorium of Paris-Bastille. In 2018-2019, Marie participated in the French creation of Coraline , an opera by Mark Anthony Turnage, at the Lille Opera , the revival of Les P'tites Michu in Caen and Reims, La Petite Balade aux Enfers at the Opera Comique, a lyrical spectacle with puppets directed by Valérie Lesort, Anna in The Seven Deadly Sins by Weill at the Opéra de Tours , Berlioz 's Summer Nights with François-Xavier Roth and The Centuries in Caen, Toulouse and La Rochelle, Béatrice in Le Testament de la Tante Caroline by Albert Roussel with theParisian frivolities. In 2019-2020, launch of the cd “Ravel L'Exotique” at Klarthe with Takenori Nemoto and the Ensemble Musica Nigella, cover of Tante Caroline's Testament with Les Frivolités Parisiennes at the Imperial Theater in Compiègne, from Les P'tites Michu to the Opéra de Tours, her first Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Opéra de Lorraine ,… and many shows unfortunately canceled due to the pandemic (notably Falstaff at the Opéra de Montpellier where she sang Meg Page). In 2020-2021, revival of the Petite Balade aux Enfers at the Opéra Comique, Reine Popotte in Le Voyage dans la Lune by Offenbach at the Opéra de Montpellier (cancelled) and at the Opéra de Toulon (cancelled), Jacinthe in Domino Noir at the Opéra de Lausanne (cancelled), Marguerite in La Dame blanche by Boieldieu at the Opéra de Limoges (capture), Die Rückert Lieder by Mahler with Pierre Bleuse and the Lemanic Modern Ensemble, Bacchis in La Belle Hélène at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées.
