Originally trained as an apprentice at Meadow Brook Theatre in Rochester, MI, Mat has performed professionally in regional houses and entertainment venues around the Mid-West and East Coast since 2010, singing music in the style of pop, classic rock, country, R&B, musical theatre, doo-wop, a Capella, Barbershop, and lounge singing. Mat can most often be found singing in concert venues or amusement parks around the country or touring throughout Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana as a returning member of the Michigan Shakespeare Festival Interstate Tour for which he plays the roles of Mercutio and Paris in Romeo and Juliet and the roles of Macduff and Seyton in Macbeth. When not performing, Mat can be found playing basketball, saying “literally” in literally every sentence, and studying Trivial Pursuit cards so as to not embarrass himself.
