Meet Matt Kemp, a native Oklahoman whose love for music began as a young boy, inspired by his father, an afternoon FM DJ in Oklahoma City. At the tender age of 10, Matt purchased his first guitar, setting in motion a lifelong journey filled with passion and creativity. Penning his first song just days after acquiring his guitar, Matt's musical odyssey had begun.

As he matured, Matt delved deeper into music, taking lessons and mastering a few chords. High school, though rigid and under-stimulating, couldn't contain his musical aspirations. Often playing hooky, he seized the opportunity to spend time in his room, honing his guitar skills and recording original music on a Tascam four-track cassette recorder.

Despite facing the potential challenges of not pursuing formal education, a wise family friend encouraged him to finish high school, promising the freedom to study any subject he desired in college. He heeded this advice, and in 2001, he proudly graduated high school with an impressive 3.5 (B+) GPA. The following fall, Matt embarked on his journey to pursue music at Rose State College, earning an Associates degree in Music Performance - Guitar with honors in 2004.

Since then, Matt's career has been deeply intertwined with music and performance. He has captivated audiences across the country with various music acts, leaving his mark from Louisiana to Wyoming and California to Florida. Notably, Matt has been a prominent figure in broadcasting, serving as the producer and host of the beloved Sunday Night Blues Cruise on KRXO (107.7 then 104.5 FM in OKC). His charisma and talent even led him to become a recurring cast member of the renowned Whodunit Dinner Theatre, Oklahoma's longest-running improv-based comedy murder mystery dinner show.

Presently, Matt thrives as an audio producer at RK1 Studios, where he crafts an array of captivating audio content for radio and TV, including voice-overs, advertisements, film, video, and animation. Furthermore, he lends his expertise to produce independent artists, bands, and singer-songwriters, making a significant impact on their careers. Some of his impressive works have been featured in national brands such as 7-11, Schwab's Meat Company, and Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy Stores.

Beyond his exceptional talent, Matt has tirelessly contributed to the enrichment of his local music scene. For nearly a decade, he served as the president of the Oklahoma Blues Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and he held an adjunct faculty position at the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma, nurturing the talents of aspiring musicians.

Throughout his illustrious career, Matt has collaborated with a plethora of beloved regional artists, including the likes of Miss Blues, Stephen Salewon, Kalo, Dita's Tears, Carol Morgan, Caleb McGee, Jabee & Denver Duncan, Steve Coleman, Cara Black, Lacy Saunders, and Devin Derrick, among others. His dedication to music and artistry led him to establish Kempmusik LLC in the fall of 2021, a record label overseeing his various musical ventures.
