Biography

Megan Fleischmann

Megan Fleischmann was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California and received her Bachelor and Master of Music from Northwestern University. Megan’s roles at Northwestern included: Despina/Cosí fan tutte, Gretel/Hänsel und Gretel, The Queen of the Night/The Magic Flute, Morgana/Alcina, and Leona Raines/In a Grove (Midwest Premiere). She was a young artist at Opera Saratoga in 2023, appearing as Phoebe D’Ysquith/A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. In 2022, Megan was a studio artist at Chautauqua Opera Company where she sang The Shepherd/Tosca, and workshopped a new opera: The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros and Derick Bermel. Megan received an Encouragement Award in the Illinois District of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in 2023. She is currently a member of the core supplemental chorus at The Lyric Opera of Chicago. Last season at Lyric, Megan covered the role of Sina in Missy Mazzoli’s The Listeners.
