Mehana Ellis is a UC Berkeley Music major studying piano under the tutelage of Betty Woo. At the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, she previously studied with Annamarie McCarthy. Mehana was named a Ross McKee Young Artist in the 25th Annual Ross McKee Piano Competition, Grand Prize winner of the 2nd Elena Leonova International Young Pianists Competition, participated in the Boston University Tanglewood Institute’s Young Artists Piano Program in 2022, and the International Music Festival of the Adriatic in 2023. Mehana will study with Anton Nel at Aspen Music Festival and School in Summer 2024. She has performed at 92nd Street Y, Carnegie Hall, SFCM’s Bowes Center, UC Berkeley’s Hertz Hall, and abroad in Austria (Mozarthaus in Vienna), France, Italy, Serbia (presented a lecture-recital at the World Piano Conference in Novi Sad), and Slovenia. In 2024, Mehana will perform at the Madrid Royal Conservatory in Spain.
