Moisés Salazar is a Mexican-American tenor born and raised in the state of California. He began his music journey performing in various venues in his familie’s mariachi band, Trio Los Salazar, which is still active today. Moisés graduated with a Bachelor’s in Music from the University of Toledo in 2018. For his 2021 season Moisés joined Opera Theater of St. Louis (OTSL) as a “Gerdine Young Artist”.

Biography

Moisés Salazar

Moisés Salazar is a Mexican-American tenor born and raised in the state of California. He began his music journey performing in various venues in his familie’s mariachi band, Trio Los Salazar, which is still active today. Moisés graduated with a Bachelor’s in Music from the University of Toledo in 2018. For his 2021 season Moisés joined Opera Theater of St. Louis (OTSL) as a “Gerdine Young Artist” where he covered the roles of Gherardo in Gianni Schicchi and Buckley in Damien Sneed’s new work The Tongue and the Lash. Prior to OTSL Moisés joined Palm Beach opera as a “Benenson Young Artist” where he covered the roles of Rodolfo in La Boheme and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte and performed the roles of The First Priest and First Armored man. For PBO’s “Discovery Series” Moisés performed the role of Tebaldo in their production of I capuleti e I Montecchi. His previous roles include Ferrando in Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte, Señor Alcalde in Sonenberg’s The Summer King, Lysander in Britten’s A Midsummer Nights Dream, Borsa in Verdi’s Rigoletto, and Rinuccio in Puccini’s Gianni’s Schicchi.
