An Illinois native, Morgan Small seeks to captivate audiences as a versatile soprano.
This season, Morgan will appear as Cendrillon in Massenet’s Cendrillon with the CCM Opera Theatre. She spent her summer with the Brevard Janiec Opera Company where she sang the role of La Fée in Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon as well as covered Adina in L'elisir d'amore by Gaetano Donizetti.
Last season, Morgan appeared as Sandrina in Mozart’s La finta giardiniera with the CCM Opera Theatre and workshopped the role of Anna in The Post Office, a new opera composed by Laura Kaminsky and Elaine Sexton with Cincinnati Opera’s Opera Fusion: New Works on behalf of Queen City Opera. Other opera credits include Cunegonde in Candide, Eurydice in Orpheus in the Underworld, Oberto in Handel’s Alcina, Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel, and Rooster/Jay in Leoš Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen. In addition, Morgan has performed with Classic Lyric Arts France in scenes as Alice in Le comte Ory, Alexina in Le roi malgré lui, and Helène in Véronique.
In 2025, Morgan was named an Indiana District Winner of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. She also won the first place Corbett Award in the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music’s (CCM) Corbett Competition. Previously, she has also won the Nerenburg Award with the Musicians Club of Women.
Morgan received her Bachelor of Music in Voice and Opera Performance with a minor in Theatre from Northwestern University, her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from CCM, and is beginning her pursuit of her Artist Diploma at CCM.
