Biography

Mykayla Fitzpatrick

Mykayla Fitzpatrick graduated from Colorado State University with her BM in Voice Performance in May of 2023 and is beginning her MM in Opera Performance at Arizona State University (anticipated graduation spring of 2027). At CSU she performed in Hansel and Gretel (Gretel), The Tender Land (Laurie Moss), Cosi fan tutte (Despina), and The Old Maid and the Thief (Laetitia). She has directed scenes from Mozart, Verdi, Bernstein, and more. She has also presented research on classical vocal pedagogy for voices transitioning through hormone replacement therapy. Since graduating, she has performed and assistant stage directed with Boulder Opera Company, assistant stage directed at Quisisana Resort in Maine and for Music on Site in Kansas, performed in Loveland Opera Theatre’s Iolanthe (Phyllis), and performed and assistant stage directed CSU’s Summer Masters Program’s Bye Bye Birdie (Kim McAfee) and Patience (Patience). Her involvement in regional companies as a performer and director as well as her love of French art song led her to her involvement as a graphic designer with Art Song Colorado. In her free time, she paints, runs, spends time with friends, and bakes often for her neighbors.
