Originally from Chicago, mezzo-soprano Natalie Sweeney is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Voice from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Catherine Cook. Natalie holds a Bachelor of Music from Michigan State University. As an undergraduate at MSU, Natalie performed numerous roles including Nancy in Britten’s Albert Herring and The Child in Ravel’s L’enfant et les Sortilèges.
After graduating from MSU, Natalie attended the distinguished Seagle Festival in Schroon Lake, NY, where she performed the roles of Chava in Jerry Bock’s Fiddler on the Roof and Countess Charlotte Malcolm in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music. During her time in upstate New York, Natalie also performed Aaron Copland’s Eight Poems of Emily Dickinson with the Lake Placid Sinfonietta.
Natalie’s most recent performances include Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte (SFCM) and the titular role in Handel’s Orlando (SFCM). Beyond the stage, Natalie enjoys engaging with classical music as a program notes writer for the SFCM Orchestra.
