Former Opera in the Ozarks Emerging Artist
Nicholas Patys is a Tenor from Plano, Texas. He received his Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma ity University, studying under Dr. Catherine McDaniel. While there, he had the honor of performing roles such as Gherardo in Gianni Schicchi, Dr. Blind in Die Fledermaus, and Adam in Children of Eden. He also had the opportunity of taking part in the Bayview Music Festival and the Opera in the Ozarks Young Artist Program while at OKCU as well, undertaking Giuseppe/Gastone in La Traviata, Chorus of Cosi fan tutte, and Prunier in La Rondine. More recently, he has finished his Masters Degree in Voice at Southern Methodist University, studying under Prof. Clifton Forbis, and singing the roles of Gherardo, again, and Tobias in Sweeney Todd. Outside of performing, Nicholas teaches a voice studio of 30 high school students in the DFW area, and is a staff singer at St. Rita Catholic Church.
