Nikki Naghavi
21-year-old Nikki Naghavi was born in Dallas, Texas. She started violin lessons at the age of 4 and currently studies at the New England Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Ayano Ninomiya. To Nikki, music isn’t just about the final performance, but the journey that affects the result. She believes in the inherent value of musical education and exposure, and thus, has steered her work toward a direction that is accessible for the vast majority.

Biography

Nikki Naghavi

Nikki Naghavi, a native of Dallas, Texas, began her violin studies with Nicolette Solomon at the Suzuki Institute of Dallas and later continued with Emanuel Borok. She currently studies at the New England Conservatory of Music with Ayano Ninomiya.  Nikki has performed at esteemed halls throughout Europe and the USA such as Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Elbphilharmonie, Concertgebouw, as a part of Tanglewood, Bowdoin, and Round Top Music Festivals. She had her solo debut in January 2018 with the Baylor Chamber Orchestra, and she soloed with the Plano Symphony in March of that year. She also won 3rd prize at the Lynn Harrell Concerto Competition and was concertmaster of Texas All-State Symphony orchestra, Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra and the New England Conservatory Symphony Orchestra on several occasions. Nikki has performed on NPR's, From The Top radio show and played with the National Youth Orchestra of the USA on their 2019 tour, she has had her students go on to do so as well. Nikki frequently subs for the Boston Philharmonic and Plano Symphony Orchestras and was a collegiate ambassador for the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s 2019-2020 season. Currently, she teaches an active private studio of students and works as a violin teacher for Trala Inc.  To Nikki, music isn’t just about the final performance, but the journey that affects the result. She believes in the inherent value of musical education and exposure, and thus has steered her work toward a direction that is accessible for the vast majority. She is a Co-Founder of Through the Staff, an organization that provides free online music lessons to young musicians who could otherwise not afford or have access to them. In her hometown, Nikki is a member and active volunteer of the Frisco Association for the Arts, where she works with the Association to strengthen and sustain the city of Frisco with the social, economic, educational, and community impact that the arts bring. Aside from playing the violin, Nikki enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures, as well as spending time with her friends and family, and her dog, Coco. She also actively posts educational and informational musical content on her Instagram account, @nikkinaghaviviolin.
