Paige Calvert is an American soprano currently based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she recently received her Master of Music in Opera Performance from the Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University. Hailing from Central Illinois, Paige received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she won the Thomas J. Smith Performance Competition and the Voice Area Achievement award. As a crossover artist, some of Paige’s favorite roles from her collegiate studies include Sarah (The Ballad of Baby Doe), Charlotte Malcolm (A Little Night Music), the Angel City Alto (City of Angels), 2nd Rusalka (Leontovych’s Rusalka), and Donna Gondola in the world premiere of João Ripper’s children’s opera, Candinho.
Paige spent the summer of 2024 in Nellysford, Virginia, where she was one of four vocal artists in the Wintergreen Music Festival’s LEAD Cooperative. As a LEAD Young Artist, she was the soprano soloist in Marianna Morales’s oratorio, Dixit Dominus. She also collaborated on a variety of chamber works and new music with fellow LEAD artists and festival artists. In the summer of 2025, Paige joins Painted Sky Opera in their ninth season, playing Frasquita in scenes from Carmen in Overture: and Evening of Operatic Gems, and covering die Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte. She is looking forward to moving back to her home state, where she was recently appointed to the adjunct voice faculty at Illinois Central College.
