Bass Paul Leland Hill recently graduated from the University of Michigan with an MM in Vocal Performance. Paul's recent role credits include the title roles in Don Pasquale and Le nozze di Figaro, Sarastro in the Magic Flute, Pandolfe in Cendrillon, Don Magnifico in Cenerentola, the Herald in Lohengrin, and Silva in Verdi's Ernani. He recently apprenticed at Opera Neo, Sarasota Opera, Utah Opera, and Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre.

Paul Leland Hill is Detroit-based young bass from hometown Clinton, Utah. He apprenticed at Sarasota Opera in 2020 and returned for the 23 and 24 season as a studio artist singing the Imperial commissioner in Madama Butterfly and covering the roles of Silva in Verdi’s Ernani, Wurm in Verdi's Luisa Miller, and Raimondo in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor. Paul was a company member at Utah Festival Opera for their ’22 and ’23 season stepping in for the role of Mr. Maraczek in She Loves Me and as the Herald in Wagner's Lohengrin. Other recent roles include Pistola in Verdi's Falstaff, Don Magnifico in Rossini’s La cenerentola, and Sarastro in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Paul graduated with a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Michigan in May 2022. While at UM, he appeared as the Sodbuster in Missy Mazzoli’s Proving Up, Don Pasquale in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, and Pandolphe in Massenet’s Cendrillon. With an undergraduate degree in Piano Performance, Paul continues to play for, coach, and teach young singers in addition to pursuing his operatic singing career.
