Pauline 'Ofa Tamale, a mezzo-soprano, was born and raised in the Kingdom of Tonga. She studied Vocal Performance at the California State University, Long Beach, a Master of Music from the California State University, Northridge, under the studio of Shigemi Matsumoto. Her first operetic role was Mrs De Rocher in Dead Man Walking by Jake Heggie with the Miami Music Festival. She also played Zita from 'Gianni Schicchi', L' Opinion Publique from 'Orpheus in the Underworld', Charlotte from 'Werther', Sister Helen from 'Dead Man Walking', Carmen from the opera 'Carmen', the Old Woman from 'Candide', and the Third Lady from 'Die Zauberflöte', as well as Dorabella in 'Così fan Tutte'. Tamale has performed on concerts, including Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Requiem, Vivaldi's Gloria and Verdi's Requiem. She has also taken part in competitions, winning third place at the NATS Las Vegas chapter. She is currently studying for a Doctorate in Vocal Performance at UNLV with Dr. Alfonse Anderson.
