Biography

Pawel Konik

Paweł Konik is one of the most promising Polish baritone of his generation. In September 2020 Paweł was invited to perform Le bal masque by Poulenc during the BridgingArts Festival in Nürnberg. His debuts as Albert in Massenet's Werther and Schaunard in Puccini's La Boheme are postponed due to COVID-19. In artistic season 2019/20 Paweł made role debuts as Andrey Shchelkalov in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, Moralès in Bizet’s Carmen and Sam in Bersntein’s Trouble in Tahiti. Previous seasons included role debuts as Harlekin from Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos, Marullo from Verdi’s Rigoletto, Alidoro in Rossini’s La Cenerentola, , Hermann in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann, II Offizier in Henze’s Der Prinz von Homburg, and I Soldat from Salome by Strauss. He returned as well to Opera Śląska for his debut as Mercutio in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette and made a house debut at Opera Nova with the same role. At at Opera na Zamku in Szczecin Paweł appeared for the first time as Guglielmo in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte. Paweł Konik performed as well at Dutch National Opera, Baltic Opera, Wroclaw Opera, and during The Brighton Festival, and The Verbier Festivals. He appeared in concerts with The Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, The Polish Radio Orchestra, The New Music Orchestra, The Silesian Philharmonic, Arte dei Suonatori, and Les Talens Lyriques.
