Rachel Mellman is a soprano originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and currently based in Los Angeles. Rachel recieved her Master of Music in Vocal Arts from California State University Northridge and a Bachelor of Arts in Drama Performance from the University of Washington. Rachel was a 2025 Emerging Artist with Opera in the Ozarks where she performed the roles of Micaela in Carmen and Cinderella in Into the Woods. In Spring of 2025, she joined Palm Springs Opera Guild for their school tour of Hansel and Gretel, performing the role of Gretel, across the Coachella Valley. Some of Rachel's other roles include Contessa Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro (SMC Opera Theatre), Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (Lawrence Opera Theatre), Cenicienta in Cenicientaaa! (CSUN Opera; U.S. Premiere), La Maestra delle Novice in Suor Angelica (Guild Opera) and Mimi cover in La Boheme (CSUN Opera). Rachel has also appeared in concerts with local organizations including the Opera Buffs and the Westside Chamber Orchestra.
