With 28+ years of professional performance experience & training, Rachel Menconi has been able to share her voice, acting skills, directing skills, & performing arts expertise with students as well as audiences for over two decades. Rachel is a SAG-AFTRA singer/actress, recording artist, writer (songs; scripts), director (Theatre; On-Camera projects), international singing/acting teacher & is a proud member of the following organizations: The Recording Academy/NARAS (The Grammy Awards), NATS (Certified), VASTA, NAfME, NJMEA, MAC, NJ Theatre Alliance, Educational Theatre Association, NSAI, & BMI. She received her Certificate in Arts Management from NYU.
Rachel has been seen on TV, in Regional/NYC/Off-Broadway theatre, films, has years experience as a session singer, back up/lead vocalist, & vocal producer. She also is the lead female singer/co-front person of her band “Say 80Thing” which she tours with throughout NJ/NY.
Rachel has also been honored by being chosen for magazine covers & featured articles such as “The Arts Issue” of the (201) Magazine. Rachel has also worked with many people in the business including legendary producer Karl Richardson (who won the Grammy Award for “Saturday Night Fever” & has worked with Barbra Streisand, The Bee Gees, Leon Russell, Linda Eder, etc) on an album for the band “Sonic Crusaders.”
Rachel has been teaching healthy singing & acting technique to children and teens since 2001 and has been teaching adults since 2005. Her students have gone on national tours, released albums, have been accepted into performing arts programs (high school/college), cast in movies, Regional/Off-Off- Broadway/Off-Broadway theatre, music videos, & on TV. Rachel also owns her private home studio called The Menconi Performance Studio (2005) as well as the theatre & video production company, Sunshine Face Productions (2007). SFP also has a party/event entertainment division where Rachel along side her business partner, offers various forms of entertainement for different occasions such as singing, costume characters, DJing/Emceeing, open photo booth, face painting, balloon twisting, and more!
Rachel has been a director/vocal director since 2001 working for/with many different schools/companies where she has also assistant directed, choreographed, staged, styled costumes, and stage managed (sometimes at the same time depending on the show/company).
Rachel has been the director of a three week summer performing arts theatre program called ArtQuest since 2014 (produced by the Wayne Education Foundation at Wayne Hills High School).
She successfully finished a 3 day online directing intensive from NIPAI where she recieved a certificate. Rachel continues her training as well as research in singing, acting, theatre, on camera, & behind the scenes skills to ensure she is giving every student/cast member the most up to date, healthy & efficient techniques.
Rachel feels so fortunate that she is able to share her passion of the performing arts through teaching, directing, writing, mentoring, & performing.
