Soprano Rena Maduro (23yo) is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Vocal Performance at New England Conservatory, where she studies with Bradley Williams. She recently graduated from Northwestern University (2024) from the studio of W. Stephen Smith. She is passionate about classical singing and hopes to one day have a flourishing operatic stage career where her brilliant voice and effervescent personality can truly shine. She has studied voice and piano from a young age and has won several competitions including the Spotlight Competition (1st place classical division) and The Classical Singers Vocal Competition (finalist), and most recently, returned to California and received an Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition LA district. Her past roles include Virtù / Poppea (NEC), Silvia / L’isola Disabitata (NU), Cendrillon/Cendrillon (NU), Cunegonde / Candide (NU) and Queen of the Night / The Magic Flute (NU). She is grateful to the many people who have taught, inspired, and encouraged her to pursue performance. Outside of singing, Rena finds enjoyment in collaborative piano, scrapbooking, crocheting and is an avid gamer. She has dedicated her life to performance and believes that music is a selfless expression of the soul with the power to unite, heal, and most importantly, create community.
