Ripley Lucas-Tagliani, soprano, is a native New Yorker. During the summer of 2023 she was a studio artist with Opera Neo covering the role of Aspasia in Mozart’s Mitridate and performing in concerts with works from Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Antonia), La Traviata (Violetta), and Idomeneo (Elettra). In 2022, she was a Manetti Shrem Opera Fellow at Festival Napa Valley and a Young Artist at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and Academy. She has been seen as Venus in Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld at the Manhattan School Music and was in an innovative all immersive project, A Midsummer’s Dream of Song (Helena). Ms. Lucas – Tagliani’s other roles included Lidochka in Moscow Cheryomushki by Shostakovich at Manhattan School of Music and as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni as a part of The Savannah Voice Festival (both productions canceled due to COVID- 19).
Her other performance credits include scene work from: Don Giovanni (Donna Elvira), Der Rosenkavalier (Marschallin), Manon (Manon), Rigoletto (Gilda), Viardot’s Cendrillon (Cendrillon), I Capuleti e I Montecchi (Giulietta), La Bohème (Musetta), Don Pasquale (Norina), Falstaff (Nannetta), Candide (Cunegonde), Naughty Marietta (Marietta), Ciboulette (Ciboulette), and Orfeo ed Euridice (Euridice). Ms. Lucas-Tagliani curated and performed in WOMEN, an evening of vocal and instrumental chamber works by women composers performed by all female musicians in 2019.
In 2023, she was a finalist in the Mildred Miller International Voice Competition and was a semifinalist for the John Alexander National Voice Competition. She was a soprano soloist at the 2024 Festa della Donna at the Columbus Citizens Foundation and an honored soprano soloist for the 43rd National Italian American Foundation Gala in Washington D.C. Ms. Lucas - Tagliani was awarded an Anna Sosenko Assist Trust Grant in 2023 and received the Licia Albanese Scholarship for both 2020 and 2021 from MSM. Additionally in 2022, she was the recipient of the Stan Sesser Commencement Award upon her Master’s graduation.
