In the previous season, Ryan made role and house debuts in three different houses. He appeared as William Dale in Silent Night with Piedmont Opera, Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Greensboro Opera and as the Innkeeper/Governor in Man of La Mancha with Pensacola Opera. In September, Ryan will return to Seagle Music Colony to workshop a new musical by Scott Eyerly, Pooch, and to tour The Falling and the Rising, an opera based on veterans' accounts of life after the Iraq War, by Zach Redler and Jerry Dye. In February 2019, Ryan will make his role debut as Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Barn Opera in Vermont. Ryan has participated in young artist programs with Cedar Rapids Opera Theater, Russian Opera Workshop, Opera Naples, Miami Music Festival and Seagle Music Colony. In addition to his operatic credits, Ryan is a playwright with credits in Florida and New York. In 2010, his short play, Parable, was performed at the University of Miami’s New Play Festival and was chosen for a staged-reading at the Empire Stage in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Ryan participated in the Young Playwrights, Inc. Urban Retreat program in 2010 where his short scene, Happy Hour, had an off-Broadway reading. Ryan holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and a Master’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
