Praised for her voice of “terrific force” (South Florida Classical Review), Los Angeles native soprano Samantha Frischling is currently based in Atlanta. Her past roles include both Blanche and Madame Lidoine in Dialogues des Carmélites, Almera in Nico Muhly's Dark Sisters, the title role in Adriana Lecouvreur, and Micaëla in Carmen. She has been a young artist with festivals around the country and abroad, including SongFest, Milnes Voice Studio at the Savannah Voice Festival, Miami Music Festival, and IVAI New York. She was part of the inaugural cohort of Vocal Fellows at Spoleto Festival USA, and recently returned for her fourth season with the festival.
Passionate about concert repertoire, she has been a soloist in works such as Corigliano's Fern Hill, Bach's St. John Passion, and Haydn's Kleine Orgelmesse. In April 2024, she collaborated with the Emory University Chorus and Symphony Orchestra as the soprano soloist in Verdi's Requiem. She can also regularly be seen on the competition stage, recently competing alongside singers from 13 countries as a quarter-finalist for the Elizabeth Connell Prize in London.
She is an alumna of Emory University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Psychology. In May 2019, she received her Master of Music degree from the Mannes School of Music, where she was a recipient of the Provost’s Scholarship. She is a proud student of Beth Roberts.
