(She/Her) Samantha Goette, soprano, hails from the mountains of Summersville, West Virginia. She recently made her professional debut as Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro with Opera Columbus (2025) and completed her Master of Music in Voice Performance at the University of Kentucky (2025). Samantha’s career goal is to one day perform opera internationally. After having a successful performance career, she hopes to indulge in her love for teaching and vocal pedagogy by being a voice professor at a university.

Biography

Samantha Goette

Samantha Goette, soprano, hails from the mountains of Summersville, West Virginia. She recently made her professional debut as Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro with Opera Columbus (2025) and completed her Master of Music in Voice Performance at the University of Kentucky (2025). Samantha’s career goal is to one day perform opera internationally. After having a successful performance career, she hopes to indulge in her love for teaching and vocal pedagogy by being a voice professor at a university. 

Samantha placed as a finalist for NATS Mid-South Regionals 2025 (2nd) and 2024 (1st), Kentucky Districts 2023 (2nd), and was a semifinalist in the NATS Student National Auditions in 2021 and 2024, was a top three finalist in the NATS Eastern Regionals from 2020 to 2023, and was first place in the 2021 and 2022 NATS Tri-State Districts. Samantha also competed in the Classical Singer Vocal Competition in Chicago and was a semifinalist in the 2022 Classical University category. Recently, she was a finalist for the 2025 NATS Mid-South Regionals (2nd), and was a finalist for the graduate voice division in the 2023 All-Tech Scholarship Competition at the University of Kentucky. Samantha completed her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance in 2023 at West Virginia University.

Her performance highlights include opera roles as Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro with Opera Columbus (2025), Anna in A Nation of Others at the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre (2025), Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro at the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre (2024), a featured soloist in “It’s A Grand Night for Singing!” with UKOT (2024), covering as Zerlina in Don Giovanni with UKOT (2024), as well as her performance as La Princesse and Nightingale in L’enfant et le Sortilèges at West Virginia University Opera (2022). Samantha was a featured soloist in the WVU Chamber Singers main stage production of Considering Matthew Shepard (2022) and as the featured soloist in “Aspen Jubilee” with the WVU Wind Symphony (2023).
