Samantha Paredes, soprano from Salt Lake City, Utah, is a Master of Music in Classical Voice student at Manhattan School of Music, studying with Dimitri Pittas. Samantha previously participated in Opera Lucca, Berlin Opera Academy, and the Utah Valley Summer Opera Festival. At Westminster College, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance and a minor in Philosphy. Her opera credits include Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Madame Herz in Der Schauspieldirektor, and Cercatrice in Suor Angelica at Berlin Opera Academy. Her musical theatre credits include The Seamstress in A Tale of Two Cities, Florika in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Anne Egerman and Mrs. Segstrom in A Little Night Music, Phoebe D’Ysquith in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Maria in West Side Story, and Johanna in Sweeney Todd. At Westminster she won the concerto competition in 2022 and performed in concert with the Westminster Chamber Orchestra. She has also sung in ensembles at Carnegie Hall, The Sydney Opera House, and the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City. She has been awarded several first-place prizes in competitions such as Nouvelles Etoiles (2021), The International Cambridge Music Competition (2023), Vienna Grand Prize Virtuoso (2022), and the Brilliant Talent Discovery Awards (2024).
