German mezzo-soprano Sarah Alexandra Hudarew studied at the University of Music in Karlsruhe with Prof. Marga Schiml as well as at the Institute of Music Theater with Prof. Andrea Raabe. She also participated in masterclasses with Brigitte Fassbaender, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Júlia Varady, Artur Korn and Peter Berne. Ms. Hudarew was a fellow of the Richard Wagner Verband Karlsruhe and Jürgen Ponto Foundation.During her studies she joined the opera studio of the Staatstheater Karlsruhe and, most notably, performed the roles of Zweite Dame (Die Zauberfloete), Marcellina (Le NozzeDi Figaro) and Roßweiße (Die Walkuere). During 2011-2013, she became a soloist at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where she sang Haensel (Haensel und Gretel), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Marquise deBerckenfield (La Fille Du Régiment), , Hanna in the German premier of "Die Passagierin“ by Weinberg, and Roßweiße (Die Walkuere). In 2013 Ms. Hudarew was part of the film production of Bernhard Lang's world premier "Der Re:igen“ under the baton of Rolf Gupta with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, and stage direction byGeorge Delnon. In the 2014/2015 season at the Landestheater Detmold, she sang the lead role of Ralph Benatzky's operetta "Meine Schwester und ich“, Zweite Dame (Die Zauberfloete) and Emilia (Otello.) The following season Ms. Hudarew sang the Erste Magd in Elektra at the Landestheater Detmold. She also had her highly acclaimed Carmen debut at the Thüringer Schlossfestspiele. Ms. Hudarew was an ensemble member at Luzerner Theater from 2016 till 2018 which included the roles of Mescalina (Le Grand Macabre), Dritte Dame (Die Zauberfloete), and Mrs. Quickly (Falstaff).This season she will return there and perform the roles of Page (Salome) and Olga (Eugen Onegin).Ms. Hudarew has also already had the pleasure to sing at Opera Leipzig, Opera Zürich, Semperoper Dresden, and will make her debut at Staatsoper Oldenburg in the Ring Cycle this year. Competition success includes being a semi-finalist of theInternationale WagnerStimmenWettbewerb as well as in the Meistersinger von Nuernberg competition. In 2017 she was finalist of the Richard Strauss Wettbewerb in Munich and performed at the Richard Strauss Festival, Garmisch-Partenkirchen aside Michelle Breedt and Krasimira Stoyanova. In addition to opera, Ms. Hudarew is enthusiastic about performing oratorios, and was the mezzo soloist in Verdi's Requiem, Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, and the alto soloist inBach's Weihnachtsoratorium
