American soprano Sarah McHan brings her passion for storytelling to operatic, concert, and musical theatre repertoire. She has sung over one hundred performances as the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute across the country, most notably with The Atlanta Opera Studio Tour and the Janiec Opera Company of the Brevard Music Center. Recently, she made her Opéra Louisiane debut in "Over the Top!", a coloratura soprano trio concert. Sarah looks forward to singing Juliette in Gounod's Roméo et Juliette with the Turner-Fischer Center for Opera at LSU this March.
A decorated soprano, she has earned recognition and awards from various competitions including the Atlanta Music Club Competition (1st Place), LSU Solo Aria Competition (Winner), Mobile Opera Rose Competition (Finalist), NATS National Student Auditions (3rd Place), and the Shirley Rabb Winston Competition - Birmingham Chapter (1st Place). Additional performance credits include Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Amy March in Little Women, and Sister Constance in Dialogues of the Carmelites.
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Georgia Southern University, where she studied under Allen Henderson. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Vocal Performance at Louisiana State University, studying under Lindsay Kate Brown.
