Scott Rubén La Marca is an American tenor and a current vocal fellow with Yale Opera at the Yale School of Music. He has appeared in concert with the Yale Philharmonia, the New York Festival of Song, Sun Valley Opera, and the Aspen Music Festival.

In 2024, Scott Rubén was a resident artist with the New York Festival of Song and participated in the Schwab Vocal Rising Stars program at the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, under the direction of Steven Blier. That same year, he originated the role of Charles Darwin in Darwin en Patagonia, an opera in Spanish by composer Mariano Fernández, presented in its Yale School of Music premiere.

With Yale Opera, Scott Rubén has performed the role of Edoardo in Rossini’s La Cambiale di Matrimonio as part of a double-bill production in spring 2025. In August 2025, he was the tenor soloist in the world premiere of Siddhartha, She, a new oratorio by Christopher Theofanidis and Melissa Studdard, presented at the Aspen Music Festival. He also served as the study cover for the role of Ferrando in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, where he also reprised the role at Yale Opera in the fall of 2025.

In the fall of 2025, he will reprise his role in Siddhartha, She with the Yale Philharmonia at Woolsey Hall. Later that season, he will appear as both the Prologue and Peter Quint in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, with Yale Opera.

He is drawn to both opera and song repertoire, and continues to explore a wide range of music that highlights dramatic expression, vocal color, and text-driven storytelling.
