Born in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, Sean began studying the piano at the age of eleven. He completed his undergraduate studies at Florida State University under the guidance of Read Gainsford and Carolyn Bridger, graduating Magna Cum Laude and with honors in 2012. Sean went on to the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, to complete both his Master of Music degree in 2014, and his Doctor of Music in Piano Performance in 2019, studying with the late Karen Shaw. He holds two minors, one in Music Theory and another in Chamber Music. His terminal document explores the works of the rather unknown Russian composer Samuil Feinberg. Sean is an active performer, appearing as a soloist and collaborator in a wide variety of settings. Recent projects include a voice recital of Robert Schumann and Margaret Bonds songs at the German Embassy in Washington, DC, and performances of the entire cycle of Beethoven sonatas for violin and piano alongside his duo partner, Nathaniel Shapiro.
