Sejin Park

Professional Biography


 

  The Korean baritone Sejin Park graduated from Yonsei University. He entered the university with the highest score, and also graduated with the highest score, which made him a valedictorian. He gained a Bachelor's degree and a Master’s degree at Yonsei University.

 

When he was a freshman in college, he went to Italy to study Italian technique and culture. He got the Diplomino from Conservatorio di Fermo and Diploma from Academy ‘Beniamino Gigli’. He participated in two international competitions ‘Citta di Pesaro’, Giuseppina Cobelli’ and he got the 1st Prize and 2nd Prize when he was 20 years old.

 

He won many competitions and awards including Grand Prize in TG National competition, 3rd Prize in German Lied competition, 3rd Prize in Cheongdo Yunji Art Song Competition, 3rd Prize in La bella Opera Competition, and he was a Finalist in Verdi International Competition ‘Voci Verdiane Citta di Busseto’. He participated in the 8th Galina Vishnevskaya International Opera Singers Competition in 2021 which was held in Moscow, Russia, and he won 2nd Prize and Audience Favorite Award.

 

He had various concerts and recitals including ‘Opera Highlight Concert’ with Hankyung Philharmonic at Korea National Opera, ‘Opera Journey’ with Koreacoop Orchestra at Korea National Opera, and he had three solo recitals at TLI Art Center, Kumho Art Hall.

 

In 2020, he went to the U.S to attend Mannes School of Music with the PDPL program. He performed the opera La Boheme as Marcello and the opera Le nozze di Figaro as Conte di Almaviva at Mannes School of Music. In Korea, he performed the opera La Boheme as Marcello in Yonsei University and the opera L’elisir d’amore as Belcore with the Arte Opera Company.

 

He participated in the Opera Steamboat Summer Festival with the Figaro role from the opera Il Barbiere di Siviglia in 2021 Summer, and he participated in the Santa Fe Apprentice Artist Program in 2022 summer with the Ford cover role from the Opera Falstaff. 

He will be joining PBO Benenson Young Artist Program in 2022/2023 Season, and will be singing Yamadori from Madama Butterfly, covering Shapless from Madama Butterfly, Guglielmo from Cosi fan tutte, and Ford from Falstaff.
