Sequoia Robinette

Praised by ArtsWatch Oregon for possessing a “formidable voice” and an “impressive ability to do heavy lifting back-to-back as both a dramatic and comedic singer,” mezzo-soprano Sequoia Robinette is celebrated for her “penchant for physical comedy” and “facial expressions that were downright hysterical.” Robinette’s passion for storytelling and commitment to excellence continue to captivate audiences in both classical and contemporary repertoire.

Robinette has become known for her portrayal of leading mezzo roles, including the title roles of Bizet’s Carmen and Handel’s Rinaldo. She went on to perform Sister Helen Prejean in Heggie’s Dead Man Walking, as well as the Principessa and Zita in Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi. Other notable roles include Maurya in Vaughan Williams’s Riders to the Sea, the Third Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Maggie in David Conte’s The Gift of the Magi, Anne Bale in Evan Meier’s Sherlock Holmes, and Tessa in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers, among others.
