Seth Tack, baritone, is a Spring 2025 Doctor of Musical Arts graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder under the tutelage of Andrew Garland. This summer, Tack played the role of Le Baron de Pictordu in Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon and covered the role of Belcore in L’elisir d’amore (Donizetti) with the Janiec Opera Company of the Brevard Music Center. In the Spring of 2024, Tack had the pleasure of singing two roles for CU’s Eklund Opera in one semester, first as First Officer Murdoch in the musical Titanic with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston, and then as Pierre Lafitte the Pirate in Amy Beach’s undiscovered chamber masterpiece Cabildo. Tack’s first venture into oratorio was last December with the Boulder Bach Festival’s reduced production of Händel’s Messiah. In the spring of 2023, Tack performed the role of Pandolfe in CU production of Massenet’s Cendrillon. Equally passionate about art song, Tack has performed four full-length recitals during his time at CU, performing works ranging from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Tack received his Master of Music degree in voice from Michigan State University in 2022, where he performed Sid in Albert Herring (Britten) and David in A Hand of Bridge (Barber). In the summer of 2019, Tack performed the role of Il Conte Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with Chicago Summer Opera. Tack also received his Bachelor of Music degree from Drake University in 2020 (summa cum laude), where he performed the roles of Guglielmo (Così fan tutte, Mozart), Pistola (Falstaff, Verdi), and Papageno (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart).
