Sierra Shoemaker is an emerging soprano with an immense passion for the arts. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Louisiana State University and a Master of Music from DePaul University. During her studies, Sierra studied with Sandra Moon and Jeff Ray, respectively. She has performed beloved roles in numerous opera and opera scene productions, such as Lauretta/Suor Genovieffa (Gianni Schicchi/Suor Angelica), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Susannah (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Gianetta (L’elisir d’amore). Sierra has also had the privilege of premiering the roles of Emily Dickinson in Rodrigo Camargo’s Chamber Opera Emily Somebody and Carolyn Bryant in Charles Lloyd, Jr.'s Emmett Till. She attended the Collaborative Piano Institute in 2021, Musica nelle Marche in 2024, and Opera Festival of Chicago in 2025. Before discovering her love of opera, Sierra participated in countless musical theater productions at her local community theater. She also has an immense love for classic rock and even writes her own poetry and lyrics in her spare time.
