Sophia Longo is a Soprano native to Columbus, OH cultivating her reputation as a dynamic, genuine, and passionate vocal artist. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Voice Performance at Ohio University where she studies with Dr. Daniel Stein. At Ohio University, she has already had the opportunity to perform roles such as Casilda (The Gondoliers), Jackie (Jackie and the Giant Bully - Opera Educational Outreach) in collaboration with Opera Columbus, and in scenes as Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor).
Sophia has trained in several summer programs. She most recently performed with Harrower Summer Opera in Atlanta, Georgia as Mary Warren (The Crucible) and with Miami Music Festival covering Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro). In previous summers, she has performed as Clorinda (La Cenerentola) and covered Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor) at the Mediterranean Opera Festival in Caltagirone, Italy and as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) with Maskarade Ópera Estudio in Santander, Spain.
Sophia graduated from Ohio State University in 2023 where she studied with Dr. Laura Portune and interpreted roles such as Cendrillon (Cendrillon), Little Red (Into the Woods), and Ariel (The Little Mermaid). She also performed in scenes as Butterfly (Madama Butterfly), Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Anna Leonowens (The King and I), and Patience (Patience).
Building experience on the opera stage, Sophia has performed with several companies in her hometown of Columbus, OH including Opera Columbus as A Page/Courtier (Rigoletto), Metauro Opera as Sandman/Dew Fairy (Hänsel und Gretel), Ukrainian Opera Ensemble as a cover to Natalka (Natalka), and Opera Project Columbus.
