Stephanie Sedlbauer
(She/Her) Canadian soprano Stephanie Sedlbauer is known for her flexibility of vocal style and powerful stage presence. She graduated from McGill university with a Graduate Diploma in Performance (2020), and a Masters in Opera and Voice (2019), studying with soprano Joanne Kolomyjec. Her recent performances include scenes from Barber's Vanessa, and Sondheim's  A Little Night Music, at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival- Opera Fest, Vitellia in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito, and chorus in Coleridge-Taylor’s Endymion’s Dream, with COSA Canada’s online season.

Biography

Stephanie Sedlbauer

Canadian soprano Stephanie Sedlbauer is known for her flexibility of vocal style and powerful stage presence. She graduated from McGill university with a Graduate Diploma in Performance (2020), and a Masters in Opera and Voice (2019), studying with soprano Joanne Kolomyjec. Her recent performances include scenes from Barber's Vanessa, and Sondheim's A Little Night Music, at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival- Opera Fest, Vitellia in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito, and chorus in Coleridge-Taylor’s Endymion’s Dream, with COSA Canada’s online season. Stephanie was a 2021 ambassador for Scuola Giovanni Grasso, where she assisted in the facilitation of a covid safe in-person and online program “VAMP”. She is also currently developing performance opportunities for young artists, and fun operatic events as well as teaching voice in Montreal. 

Some past roles include Mrs. Maurrant (Street Scene), Elle (La Voix Humane), Mum (Albert Herring), and Suor Angelica. Her portfolio includes experience as a photographer, director, acting coach, dancer, and lead singer of a rock band. Stephanie was also part of the winning team ‘Écho(e)s’, for the 2020 Coopérathon Open-innovation challenge with Opéra de Montréal.

While developing her personal projects in Montréal, Stephanie is currently working as a Voice Teacher and Freelance Photographer.
